A mother has been found not guilty of shaking her baby to death after allegedly losing her temper.

Gemma O'Donnell, 27, of York, was accused of killing five-month-old son Leighton in December 2010.

Prosecutors alleged she had inflicted the fatal wounds three to five days before his death in a fit of rage.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court, however, rejected the allegation and cleared Ms O'Donnell, of Bright Street, of one count of manslaughter.
