Injured boy airlifted after Menwith Hill bus accident

A 12-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries in a collision involving a bus, North Yorkshire Police have confirmed.

The accident happened at about 16:30 GMT on Menwith Hill Road, near the RAF Menwith Hill base outside Harrogate, police said.

The boy was airlifted by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
