Police have made an appeal to trace a man over a string of church burglaries across North Yorkshire.

Police are keen to speak to Christopher Coulthard from Warwickshire who is known to travel around the area on a bicycle and stay locally.

Officers said he could have information about 15 burglaries at churches over the past week.

Mr Coulthard is also wanted by police in Warwickshire for recall to prison after breaking terms of his licence.

He was jailed for nine years in 2010 but released on licence in November 2012.

North Yorkshire Police said cash had been stolen in some of the burglaries including money from Holy Ascension Church in Settle and Holy Trinity Church in Ripon.
