Acomb assault victim Keith Wright dies from injuries

A man who was assaulted in York has died in hospital, police have said.

Keith Wright, 50, had been critically ill in Leeds General Infirmary since the attack on 21 January.

Liam Matthew Wyard, 19, of Acomb Road, York, and a 16-year-old boy who cannot be named have been charged in connection with the assault.

Officers said the charge of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm would be reviewed in light of Mr Wright's death.

"This is an extremely tragic incident and we are doing everything we can to support them."
