Man and boy charged over York Acomb Road attack

A man and a boy have appeared in court charged in connection with an assault in York in which a 50-year-old man was severely injured.

David Keith Wright was attacked on Acomb Road on Monday night and is critically ill in hospital,

Liam Wyard, 19, of Acomb Road, York, and a 16-year-old boy, have been jointly charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

They were remanded in custody at York Magistrates' Court.

They will appear at the city's crown court on 28 January.
