Biker admits riding at 144mph at South Milford

A biker who rode his 1,000cc machine at 144mph on an A-class road in North Yorkshire has admitted speeding.

Gary Dobson, 40, of Old Lee Bank, Halifax, West Yorkshire, was stopped by officers on the A63 road at South Milford, North Yorkshire, on 7 October.

Dobson did not attend Selby Magistrates' Court on Thursday, but pleaded guilty by letter to riding the BMW RR1000 bike at that speed.

He will be sentenced for the offence on 8 November.
