Scarborough kayaker Jason Raper memorial service
A memorial service has been held for a kayaker from North Yorkshire who died in a Norwegian river.
Jason Raper, 19, from Scarborough, was taking a five-week adventure holiday in Europe when he went missing in the River Raundalen on 23 June.
His body was found in the water in September.
Mr Raper's family and friends were due to pay tribute to the teenager at a service at 15:00 BST at the East Riding Crematorium at Octon, near Driffield.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned by the coroner in Scarborough on 12 October.
A keen kayaker, Mr Raper went to college in York and was also a member of York Canoe Club.
Mr Raper had taken a kayaking trip with three friends down the river in western Norway but the group became separated.
A major search of the area by Norwegian Police was postponed due to poor weather and high water levels.
