Teen bailed over Whitby sexual assault

A teenage boy arrested over a serious sexual assault in a North Yorkshire town has been released on bail.

A girl, whose age has not been given, was attacked in an alleyway between New Quay Road and Baxtergate in Whitby between 20:30 and 21:00 BST on 12 September.

Detectives arrested the teenager on Friday.

North Yorkshire Police said the boy, whose age has also not been given, was bailed pending further inquiries.
