Third arrest over Selby A19 teenager death crash

A third person has been arrested over a crash which killed a teenager and injured seven other people on the A19 in North Yorkshire.

Carly Smith, 15, died and seven others, including four children, were hurt when two cars collided at Chapel Haddlesey, near Selby, on 13 August.

Police said a 47-year-old woman from Selby had been arrested and released on bail while inquiries continue.

A woman, 24, and man, 27, who were previously arrested remain on bail.

The force is still appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

An inquest into the teenage girl's death has been opened and adjourned.
