An image of a man wanted in connection with a serious sexual assault on a 32-year-old woman in North Yorkshire has been released by police.

The woman was attacked in her own home in Layerthorpe, York, on 20 August.

Mohammed Hussein, 33, originally from Bangladesh, was known to have links to both London and Brighton, said North Yorkshire Police.

Det Sgt Alan Rowan, from York CID, said officers had made "extensive inquiries" in an effort to locate Mr Hussein.

"It is imperative that Mohammed Hussein is arrested as soon as possible so that we can progress the investigation and give reassurance to the victim," he said.

Anyone with information about Mr Hussein's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
