Reporter joins miners at Kellingley Colliery in Yorkshire
A BBC reporter joined miners working underground at Kellingley Colliery, where three men have died in the last four years.
To get to the coalface Charlotte Leeming had to descend in a lift before travelling five miles on a train. She then clambered aboard a conveyor belt for the final stage of the two-hour journey.
The pit, located on the border of North and West Yorkshire, is the UK's largest producer of coal, with more than two million tonnes cut each year.
