Tears as 100-year-old Irton tree felled


Work to fell a 100-year-old beech tree has begun after a five-year legal row.

Protesters had climbed the tree at Irton, near Scarborough, North Yorkshire, in a bid to save it.

Contractors began felling the tree after the final protester agreed to come down.
