Witnesses have been urged to come forward as investigations continue into the death of a boy at a swimming pool in North Yorkshire.

Kaimen Ward, eight, of Ashlands Road, Northallerton, died after getting into difficulties at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton on 25 August.

Police said some people who were in the pool at the time had not come forward.

Det Insp Keith Ruff said he wanted to speak to everyone who was in the pool "as a matter of urgency".

He said: "Even if people did not witness Kaimen's tragic death, I would still like to speak with them so that I can establish a clear picture of the afternoon's events."

Anyone who was in the swimming pool after 1400 BST and has not yet contacted the police is asked to contact Northallerton CID.

North Yorkshire Police are working with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the death.

The force said Kaimen's funeral would take place early next week.
