Darlington biker killed in North Yorkshire 4x4 crash

A man has died after his motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a 4x4 vehicle in North Yorkshire.

The 34-year-old man, from Darlington, died in hospital following the crash on the A684 between Swinithwaite and Aysgarth at 1810 BST on Friday.

Police said the man was part of a group of four bikers from Darlington who were travelling towards Aysgarth.

A spokesman urged witnesses or anyone who saw the bikers before the crash to come forward.

The 4x4 driver, a local man, suffered minor injuries in the collision.
