Pedestrian hit by car near Stonehenge dies in hospital

A pedestrian who was hit by a car on the A303 near Stonehenge has died, Wiltshire Police said.

Patrick Sturtivant, 37, from Gwent, suffered head injuries when he was run over on Friday night and was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

A 28-year-old man from London was driving the Mercedes 300 that struck him, police said.

The road was closed near Amesbury for four hours on Friday night.
