Salisbury Plain fire destroys crops

A huge blaze has destroyed crops in a field on Salisbury Plain.

The military fire service at Boscombe Down, police, army and ambulance service worked with firefighters to tackle the flames near Shrewton.

Crews were called at about 14:20 BST. No-one was hurt and nearby buildings were spared by the combined efforts of the various services.

Fire crews warned people not to drop cigarette butts near crops which are dry at this time of year.
