Girl, six, killed in road accident near Cricklade

A six year-old girl has been killed and a woman critically injured in a road accident in Wiltshire.

The accident happened on Saturday, just before 13:00 BST, on a minor road near Cricklade.

Police said the girl who was killed was a passenger in the Land Rover Discovery. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The woman who was driving was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Two boy passengers received minor injuries.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident on the C124 at Marston Meysey, or saw the blue Land Rover beforehand, to contact officers.

No other vehicle is believed to be involved.
