Pool death boy, 3, 'fell into water on his birthday'

A three-year-old boy died after falling into a swimming pool on his birthday, it has been revealed.

Jack Rowe died in the early hours of Thursday, after he was discovered in Upavon shortly after 19:20 BST on Wednesday.

The boy had been reported missing to police about 20 minutes before he was found, a spokesman said.

He received emergency treatment at the scene but was "unresponsive" and was airlifted to hospital in Southampton.

A police spokesman said: "Wiltshire Police will now work with Hampshire Police and partner agencies to prepare a report for the coroner's office."
