Tributes have been paid to a Wiltshire woman who died from serious injuries at her home on Friday.

Police were called to Avondown Road, Durrington, where they found Doreen Webb but paramedics were unable to revive her.

"There are few words to describe her. Our mother and nanny... was simply the best," a family statement read.

Leonard Webb, 68, is charged with the murder of Mrs Webb and is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court later.

"They were happily married for over 44 years and shared so many precious moments together, travelling the world and being around for their family.

"We are all still trying to deal with, and understand, this situation.

"We would also like to give thanks to the medical team that attended the incident," the family added.
