Chippenham runner hit by car has died

A woman who was hit by a car while running in Chippenham has died, a week after the accident, police said.

The 20-year-old, who has not been named, was struck while crossing the Bridge Centre roundabout junction at about 10:20 GMT on 16 November.

She was taken by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol but died there on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the car was not injured and officers said they were taking no further action at this stage.

Wiltshire Police said they were still appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
