Wiltshire residents are being warned of a telesales scam involving burglar alarms.

People are receiving calls offering domestic alarm systems at cheap prices, but then buyers are required to sign up to a monitoring service which can cost up to £6,000.

Buyers are also told the alarm system is linked directly to the local police, which is also untrue.

Wiltshire Council wants anyone who receives the calls to report them.
