Soldier Kieron Blight killed in Wiltshire car crash

A man who died when the car he was in hit a tree was a 19-year-old soldier, police have said.

Kieron Blight, from Exeter, died at the scene of the crash in Station Road, between Tidworth and Perham, in Wiltshire at about 18:33 GMT on Monday.

Police said the serving soldier, based in the Perham Down area, was a passenger in the Mazda MX5.

The driver, a man from the Peterborough area, was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with serious head injuries.

Police said the car hit a kerb and overturned before it struck the tree.

The road was closed for more than five hours. Wiltshire Police appealed for witnesses to contact them.
