Salisbury Christmas Market to expand

Salisbury's Christmas Market will be bigger this year and it will last for longer, organisers have said.

Last year's inaugural event attracted 94,000 visitors and brought more than £5m into the city.

Organisers said this year the number of stalls would be increased to 70 and the event would run for 24 days instead of 18.

They hope the event, which will run from 28 November to 21 December, will attract more than 100,000 visitors.

After last year's event, the city centre management team estimated visitors spent £2m at the market itself, and a further £3.6m elsewhere in the city.
