A 46-year-old man has been charged with making a hoax bomb threat which led police to evacuate a street in Devizes.

About 50 residents of Mayenne Place had to leave the area on Tuesday as a precautionary measure following reports of explosives in a flat.

Residents were sent to former council offices at Browfort House, but have now returned home.

Nicolas Christian Luffman, of Mayenne Place, is due at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on 11 June.
