Driver arrested over fatal A419 crash in Wiltshire

A 23-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash in Wiltshire.

Police said a Ford Fiesta hit the rear of an articulated lorry just before 04:00 BST on Saturday on the northbound A419 sliproad at Commonhead.

A male passenger in the car, 20, from Swindon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fiesta driver was treated for minor injuries, the lorry driver was unhurt.

The road was closed for 10 hours.

Wiltshire Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
