James Simister remanded over wife's murder in Amesbury

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife who died in hospital after being found injured at their home in Wiltshire.

James Simister, 49, of Maple Way, Amesbury, appeared before magistrates in Salisbury.

Debbie Simister, 45, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital on Monday evening where she later died.

Mr Simister has been remanded in custody to appear before Winchester Crown Court on 30 April.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and Mrs Simister's next of kin have been informed.
