Gerald Harding named as pedestrian killed in A36 collision

A pedestrian who was killed when he was hit by a car on the A36 in Wiltshire has been named.

Gerald Harding, 86, was struck near to the Brickworth Corner junction, at Whiteparish near Salisbury on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Harding, who was crossing the road at the time of the crash, died of his injuries at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours as accident investigators tried to establish the cause of the crash.
