Somerset man who died in Wiltshire car crash is named

A Somerset man who was killed in a car crash near Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire, has been named by police.

Dale Perrett, 46, of Hillside Avenue, Midsomer Norton, died "as a result of a collision" on the B3099 in Clivey at 20:30 GMT on Sunday.

No one else was injured in the accident and a silver MG ZR was the only car involved. Mr Perrett died at the scene.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Salisbury Coroners' Court.

The road was closed overnight while the highways authority cleared debris, and was reopened in the early hours of Monday.

The police are still looking for witnesses who saw the vehicle travelling west from Dilton Marsh.
