Wiltshire councillor suspended from Conservative group

A Wiltshire councillor who was reprimanded for mistreating a member of staff, has been suspended from the council's Conservative group.

Chris Humphries, who represents Aldbourne and Ramsbury, was found guilty of five breaches of Wiltshire Council's code of conduct last month.

A Conservative group spokesman said he had been suspended for three months and must undergo "officer relationship training" before being reinstated.

Mr Humphries has declined to comment.

The Tory councillor appeared before the Standards Committee in October following allegations of bullying and harassment by a council employee.

He denied the claims but was found to have breached the council's code of conduct and was officially reprimanded.

The council's Conservative group has now confirmed that his membership has been suspended for three months.
