Wiltshire railway links improved in £6m scheme

Almost £6m is to be spent improving facilities for cyclists and pedestrians at railway stations in Wiltshire.

Salisbury station is to get a bus interchange costing £500,000 while £350,000 will be spent on pedestrian and cycle links in the city.

There will also be a new secure bike facility and a bike hire scheme will be started at the station.

Other stations such as Chippenham, Warminster, Trowbridge and Melksham will have similar improvements.

Money for the projects has come from Wiltshire Council and the Department for Transport.
