Trowbridge Park war memorial to be renovated

A war memorial in a Wiltshire park is to be cleaned and renovated in time for Remembrance Sunday.

The council has commissioned the repair of weathered stonework on the monument at Trowbridge Park which will also preserve it against decay. Work will start on Monday and last three weeks.

The memorial, unveiled on 13 August 1921, commemorates 289 servicemen who lost their lives in World War I.

The names of 102 servicemen who died in World War II were added in 1946.
