Tribute paid to Chippenham Sainsbury's car park death woman

The family of a woman, whose body was found under burning rubbish in a supermarket car park in Wiltshire, has said she will be "greatly missed".

Karen Archard, 53, from Chippenham, was found dead on 7 August after fire crews put out a fire at Sainsbury's in the town's Bath Road.

Her family have paid tribute to her, saying she was "a loving, caring and thoughtful Mum and Nan".

Wiltshire Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious.

In a statement, the family said: "Karen was a loving, caring and thoughtful Mum and Nan, who will be greatly missed.

"She had suffered most of her life, battling against mental illness, which can be severely misunderstood.

"She was a happy and joyful Mum and Nan who will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

"We would like to thank all the people who came forward and helped the police with their inquiries and the police for handling this matter discreetly and delicately.

"We would like to be left to grieve in peace and we hope that people will respect these wishes."
