A new loyalty card scheme has been launched in Swindon aimed at bringing more shoppers into the town centre.

About 75 national and independent stores in the town centre have signed up to the My Loyalty Card initiative.

The cards, which are freely available to shoppers from key locations in the town, enable them to obtain various discounts.

Simon Jackson of town centre management company InSwindon said he hoped the scheme would boost consumer confidence.

He said: "When you have more people in the town that improves retailer confidence which makes them want to invest in the town."
