Driver killed in A36 accident named as Stanley James Knight

A 91-year-old man who was killed when the car he was driving collided with a lorry near Warminster has been named.

Stanley James Knight, from Upton Lovell near Warminster, died at the scene of the accident on the A36 - close to the village of Upton Lovell.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said the accident happened at 13:40 BST on Friday.

The road was closed for more than five hours while a police investigation was carried out.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact officers.
