Two killed in truck collision on A36 at Upton Lovell

Two pensioners were killed when their car collided with a truck on the A36 in Wiltshire.

A 75-year-old female Ford Focus driver and her 84-year-old male passenger died at the scene at Upton Lovell, near Warminster, on Tuesday.

A 56-year-old man from Melksham, who was driving a tipper truck, suffered minor injuries in the collision.

The road was closed for more than eight hours during the afternoon and evening after asphalt and diesel were spilled.

Police said they also closed the road to allow collision investigation officers to examine the scene.
