Four people have been arrested after the suspicious death of a man whose body was found in a Wiltshire field.

The body, believed to be a 43-year-old, was found in a remote location near Semley at about 18:00 BST on Saturday.

Police said formal identification had yet to be completed but the identity of the man was known and they were trying to contact his next of kin.

Officers arrested three men in their 40s and a 25-year-old woman on Sunday. All four are in custody.

Det Ch Insp Ian Saunders said the "cause of the man's death is not known at this stage" but his officers were treating the death as suspicious.

"The scene is at a remote rural location," he said.

"However I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of The Marshes, Marshes Farm and Semley area between 08:45 on Friday 14th and 12:30 on Saturday 15th October 2011."
