Sunderland working mens' club raider threatens staff

A man armed with a hammer threatened staff before stealing cash from a working men's club in Sunderland.

The man raided the Red House Working Men's Club on Rawmarsh Road in the Red House Estate area of the city, police said.

The force said he was carrying a hammer during the incident, at about 13:30 BST.

Northumbria Police are asking anyone who saw the robbery, or who has information, to contact them.
