Sunderland in bid to host Tall Ships Race 2018

15 August 2014 Last updated at 20:24 BST

Could the Tall Ships Race be returning to the North-East for a fourth time?

The Trust said the race could mean a massive boost to the city's economy, as well as being a reminder of Wearside's maritime heritage.

Look North's Damian O'Neil reports.
