Boy, 12, injured in Stanley bus crash leaves hospital

A 12-year-old boy, who was seriously injured in a head-on crash involving two school buses in County Durham, has been discharged from hospital.

Fifty children from St Bede's Catholic School, Lanchester and Tanfield School on were the buses when they collided in Stanley on 3 June.

Twenty eight of them and the two drivers were treated in hospital.

Police said the 12-year-old Tanfield pupil, who suffered serious facial injuries, was now recovering at home.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
