Stephen Wilkes jailed for child sex crimes

A man has been jailed for eight years with a further five years extended licence for child sex offences.

Stephen Wilkes, 34, from Cramlington in Northumberland was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court.

He was found guilty in March of four counts of indecent assault, five of gross indecency with a child under 14 and one of sexual activity with a child under 16.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of making an indecent photograph.
