Colin Moss named as man killed in Gateshead house fire

A man who died in a house fire in Gateshead has been named.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Redemarsh, Leam Lane, Gateshead, just after 18:35 BST on Tuesday.

Colin Moss, 53, who lived at the property, suffered substantial burns and was taken to hospital where he died on Wednesday.

A 45-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further inquiries, police said.

A second 45-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation and later released, police said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
