Masked intruders rob Heaton man in his home

Heaton Road, Newcastle The burglary happened at a house on Heaton Road in Newcastle

A man has been threatened in his home by three masked intruders.

They broke into the house on Heaton Road, Newcastle, at about 18:30 GMT on Friday and stole money and jewellery.

The occupant, in his 60s, was not injured but was left shaken, police said.

Officers believe the men may have left in a blue Ford Focus, the same make and colour as a car found on fire in Ripon Gardens half an hour later.

They are trying to establish whether it was the same car.

Northumbria Police is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious at either location to contact them.
