Sunderland fans leave Wearside for Capital One Cup final

2 March 2014 Last updated at 16:44 GMT

Thousands of fans lined up at the Stadium of Light in the early hours to head to Wembley to see their team play in the League Cup final against Manchester City.

Fans queued from 04:30 GMT to catch one of the 49 coaches from Wearside to Wembley.

A victory on Sunday in the Capital One Cup final would have seen the Black Cats win their first major trophy since they won the FA Cup in 1973.

But it was not to be with City beating Sunderland 3-1.
