Blyth pub toilet rape: Police appeal after attack

A 21-year-old woman was raped in a pub toilet in Blyth, police said.

It happened in the Blyth and Tyne pub in Seaforth Street at about 00:30 GMT on Sunday.

The offender was white, in his late 30s or early 40s and thin. He had curly, brown shoulder-length hair and was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.

Officers believe he may have been in the smoking area of the pub before following the victim into the toilet.

Northumberland Ch Insp Peter Reeve said CCTV images were being checked.
