Former prime minister and Sedgefield MP Tony Blair returned to the North East to mark the sixth anniversary of the sporting foundation he created.

More than 3,500 sports coaches have been trained since the Tony Blair Sport Foundation was formed.

Mr Blair met young trainees as he visited two of the foundation's partner sites at Newcastle Cricket Centre and Walker Technology College in Newcastle.

Look North's Damian O'Neil spoke to Mr Blair and some of the young sporting hopefuls.
