Northumberland tree crash driver named

A man killed when the car he was driving hit a tree in Northumberland has been named by police.

The Seat Ibiza left the A1068 in Amble and crashed into the tree at about 18:35 GMT on Saturday.

David Jones, 38, from Amble, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours for police to investigate. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Northumbria Police.
