Cramlington hospital roadworks to cost £3.8m

Almost £4m will be spent on attempting to improve traffic links to a new emergency care hospital in Northumberland.

The £70m Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington will serve people from Northumberland and North Tyneside from 2015.

Work on the Moor Farm roundabout will start on Tuesday and is expected to finish by November.

Project director Paul Brayson said the area's roads would be made "safer".
