Man charged with manslaughter after Jesmond death

A man has been charged with the manslaughter of a man found dead in a flat in Newcastle.

The body of 43-year-old David Kochs, from Gateshead, was discovered at a property in Dulverton Court on Adderstone Crescent, Jesmond in March.

Kirk Franklin Thompson, 45, of Reivers Gate, Longhorsley, will appear before Newcastle magistrates later.

A 40-year-old man also arrested in connection with Mr Kochs' death remains on police bail.

Mr Thompson is also charged with unlawful wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a Class A drug.
