Sunderland National Glass Centre's £2.25m revamp complete

27 June 2013 Last updated at 09:28 BST

A £2.25m revamp of the National Glass Centre in Sunderland has been completed.

Officially opened in 1998 by HRH Prince Charles, the centre has often struggled to hit visitor targets.

A spokesman for the University of Sunderland, which took over the centre in 2010, said he hoped the new gallery, restaurant, remodelled glass studio and shop would attract more visitors.
