Gosforth murder inquiry: Police name woman

Police have named a woman who was found dead at a house in Newcastle, sparking a murder investigation.

The body of Heather Arthur, 50, was discovered at her home in Woodbine Road, Gosforth, shortly after 11:00 BST on Monday.

Police said Ms Arthur, who was originally from the Isle of Wight, had suffered "unexplained injuries."

A Northumbria force spokesman said a 49-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder, remained in police custody.
